Welcome to the Cessna T-50/UC-78 Type Club Website. This club is dedicated to preserving the history of the Cessna T-50/UC-78 "Bamboo Bomber" aircraft, as well as serve as a resource to those who own or who are restoring Bamboo Bombers.
A word about the “Bamboo Bomber Club”
The Bamboo Bomber Club was founded by Jim Anderson, a proud owner of a UC-78, several years ago. Jim operated the organization and published a great newsletter. His son Paul acted as webmaster. Last year, I contacted Jim looking for online space to put the restoration photos of my UC-78B project, N66671, and found that the Club, and web site, were dormant. At that point, I asked Jim if I could maintain the web site and he and Paul agreed.
Out of respect for Jim and Paul Anderson, the name of this site will remain “Bamboo Bomber Club” however I do not intend to have any meetings, collect any dues, publish any newsletters or anything of that sort. I do intend to archive all of Jim’s old newsletters on this site under the “Bamboo Bomber Club” selection.
To sum all this up, my only purpose here is to have an online outlet for the mountains of data and pictures I have accumulated over the past 20 years on this magnificent aircraft. If any of you “Sky King Fans” out there have any items to add, please contact me.
